About Us

The college was established in the year 1981 to provide access to legal education to the students of the district and the neighboring areas. It is permanently affiliated to the Madhusudan Law University, permanently approve by the Govt. of Odisha and approved by the Bar Council of India. 
The institution offers 3 year LL.B.(CBCS) course 2yr LL.M.(CBCS) course. LLM Course Admission process for LL.B. and LL.M. courses are opened after the publication of Graduation and LL.B. results respectively of the Utkal University, which is normally during June-July. The candidates will have to apply in the prescribed application form available in the college on payment (Rs. 500 in person and Rs. 600 by post) within 14 days of the publication of the University results. The fill up forms must
accompany the photo copies of testimonials, to be verified at the time of admission.

Syllabus

LLB

Any graduate from a recognized university with 45% (general) and 40% (SC/ST) are eligible to take admission in the LL.B. course. In LL.B. 6 semester examinations are to be cleared before the award of the degree by the University. In case of LL.B. each paper is divided in to end-semester 70 marks and 30 marks for internal assessments. The duration of Three year LL.B degree course shall be of six semesters (three academic years). The maximum duration for completing the course shall be of five consecutive academic years. Fees: Admission form :600/-, 1st year : INR 22655/-, 2 nd and 3rd year is INR 23010/-

Anyone with a LL.B. degree from a recognized university is eligible to take admission in to LL.M. degree. The syllabus for LL.M course has been designed on Choice Based Credit System as per the guidelines provided by University Grant Commission and the Curriculum Development Centre of U.G.C. The LL.M Programme is projected to train future researchers and the students to enquire and to explore about the legal frame work of the contemporary society. This syllabus (on Choice Based Credit System) for master of laws (LL.M) examination consists of four semesters. The 1st Semester shall cover the period from July to December and 2nd Semester from January to June during the first academic session. Similarly, the 3rd Semester shall commence from July to December and 4th Semester from January to June of the second academic session. The specialization course for LL.M. is Commercial Law. The candidates will have to apply through Common PG Entrance Test (CPET-2022) & PG e-Admission for the session 2022-23 For State Public Universities and colleges.
